wish I was on that sort of money. Wages tend to be what you can
get from your employer so you can’t blame the players for
getting the most that they can. Rugby is a minority sport so if
clubs like Salarycens skew the wages by cheating it can only
have a knock on effect by increasing wages elsewhere as clubs
struggle to hold on to its top players.

the pot will be more full than Englands if we don’t pay as much
because the audience is smaller. Supply and demand economics.

audience for football is massive. Look at the total attendance

numbers.

The thing I can't understand though is this -
How does 4th tier football afford to pay these salaries.
The games are not televised - unless they get a big FA cup game.
They don't get that many people going through the turnstiles.
From memory, ticket prices are cheaper. The food and beverage
options are cheaper. People tend to drink outside the ground.
Are they given big handouts from the FA?

Yes but that has absolutely nothing to do with the sweeping
generalisation and subsequent flawed information that you then
posted to try to back it up.
But at least you have now posted something we can agree on.

The EFL which covers Championship and Leagues One and Two,
receive just under £600m a year from Sky.
On top of that, there is sponsorship from Sky bet, and from
Carabao and Pap John's for the two cups.

No wonder Sky Sports is so expensive

I don’t know how they can pay players that much but they do.
Plenty of clubs get into trouble by paying too much to players
but it’s not the employees fault. It does seem disproportionate
for what some jobs are paid but being a police person or a nurse
is a lot easier to become than a professional sportsperson who
has a limited time for which you can earn money.
The entertainment industries get paid a lot more than the
service industries because people buy entertainment in massive
numbers for much of the time. On average how much do you spend
on entertainment be it TV, Sport, theatre, eating out and
practically every other activity compared to how often you use a
medical practitioner, the emergency services.
It’s supply and demand, simple capitalism.

The way finances are worked out are ridiculous, all clubs do not
lose that money, what you have to factor in is that most if not
all clubs have a Premiership Rugby Company which is separate
from other things to do with the club. As I have said before
this is done to protect the club as a whole against issues with
premiership rugby ltd . Any of the clubs that own their own
stadium or have really long leases will have their assets in
respect of bricks and mortar and hospitality on attached to a
different company. This is part of the reason why sorting out
salary cap issues can be very difficult. Rugby is not
financially transparent and these journalists are just writing
lazy articles.
