HARLEQUINS' COACHING GROUP HAS MADE THREE CHANGES TO THE
STARTING XV AS THE CLUB FACE MIDLANDS SIDE WORCESTER WARRIORS
THIS FRIDAY, LIVE ON BT SPORT
Returning to his old stomping ground at Sixways Stadium this
week, front row Simon Kerrod steps into a starting role at
loosehead prop as Joe Marler returns to England camp ahead of
the national side's Six Nations clash with Wales this weekend.
The only other change to the pack sees back row Tom Lawday earn
his first start since returning from injury last Saturday as he
begins the game at openside flanker.
A final change to the starting line up sees England man Joe
Marchant return from camp to start on the right wing in an
otherwise unchanged backline.
Loosehead Jordan Els and Aademy duo George Hammond and Matas
Jurevicius are added to the Impact Players this weekend.
Commenting, Senior Coach Tabai Matson said: “We were pleased
with the way we took our chances a little better against Wasps
last Saturday. It’s important we back that up this week against
a Worcester side determined to impress at home in front of their
fans.
“We haven’t won at Sixways for five years now, so we are under
no illusion of the challenge ahead and our need to be sharp once
again this week.”

I'd have preferred Marchant at 13 and Lynagh at 14 but otherwise
happy with that selection. Huw Jones does seem to be improving
every game though so hopefully that trend continues.

Strong team. Very happy that Edwards is given another start at
10.
Interesting to note that SGB does not make the squad and is not
listed as unavailable. I'm assuming that is a mistake but if its
not then a bizarre decision to renew his deal.

Interesting that Kerrod is preferred at loose head over a
specialist. Clearly he wasn't just emergency cover the other
week.

Andre versus Seb Atkinson could be a serious mismatch although
oli morris is a solid defender.

I like him but he does seem to miss alot of rugby with us.

It was a poor decision in my view. SGB had a few games where he
was OK, but that was to him playing out of his skin. His regular
games, which we have seen more of, he is below the required
standard for essentially first choice loosehead during the
international periods.
