Eggchasers podcast

Has really got it in for Quins this week on the back of the
research undertaken on our behalf by Monash University. Have a
listen. One of the team is quite viriolic. I think they may
well have hold of the wrong end of the stick, but it would be
great if Laurie and/or the club went public to reassure them
that we are not out to destroy the game as we know it, a million
years of tradition etc., etc.. So far as I can tell, the whole
purpose of the Rainbow game (and accompanying research) is
solely to make the game more inclusive and accepting of players,
irrespective of their sexuality.

It's been a while since I listened to Eggchasers. I used to
listen when I had a 90min drive each way to get to work as it
would fill a complete journey. I'm guess it was JB who was the
most gobby about it. He likes to think he's "provocative" but
he's usually just being a *&^% instead.

I enjoy the pod but it is 3 middle aged, well off, white guys.
So I expect viewpoints like the one in question.
Also JB is very outspoken on everything, is a contrarian and I
do feel the other 2 just cant be arsed to argue with him
sometimes even if they don't fully agree.

They are indeed white & blokes, but I don't think "middle-aged"
applies to them (mid 30s I believe).
they are often pretty good in terms of actual game talk & such.
Tim Cocker is knowledgeable enough to be employed by BT Sport as
a pitchside assistant commentator, and Phil does good
statistical analysis. JB is a "pub bore" though.

Stephen Jones (Times variety) has had a bit of bust up with
Laurie on this o. Twitter this morning have not read whole thing
but seems misunderstanding all round.

Personally I'd be much more interested in what they had to say
if they were three middle aged poor white guys.

Not really a misunderstanding.
Jones dismissed the research on discrimination in women's rugby
saying in his experience the research was b******s.
Laurie quote tweeted. " Embarrassing! Grow up, and contribute to
the discussion positively
