WHITE SET FOR 50TH APPEARANCE IN THIRD ANNUAL LGBTQ+ PRIDE MATCH
       Friday, 18th February 2022 @ 12:00
BACK ROW ARCHIE WHITE WILL CELEBRATE HIS 50TH HARLEQUINS
APPEARANCE AGAINST WASPS THIS WEEKEND AS THE CLUB HOSTS ITS
       THIRD ANNUAL PRIDE MATCH
Hitting the half-century mark this weekend, Academy product
White is joined in the back row by Club Captain Stephan Lewies
who is named at blindside flanker in his first start since
       returning from injury.
Harlequins also welcome back England prop Joe Marler, who starts
at loosehead following his involvement in the national side’s
opening rounds of the Six Nations, with this weekend a fallow
       week for the tournament.
Two further changes to the starting XV see fly-half Will Edwards
and outside centre Huw Jones take to the field from the first
       whistle.
Quins also welcome back Tom Lawday and James Chisholm this week,
with the back-row duo returning to the matchday squad amongst
the Impact Players following spells on the sidelines.
Previewing the fixture, Senior Coach Tabai Matson said: “The
Premiership is the toughest comp in the world, I believe,
because of how close everybody is. There will be times in the
season when you lose momentum. When you lose three in a row it,
of course, adds a little extra intensity in that want to get a
win. It’s a bit of a cliché, but we just want to play better.
That’s the reason we haven’t won the last three, we haven’t
played well for long enough or in critical parts of the game to
       get a result.
“We know this week against Wasps we have a good team rolling in
and we’re really focused this week on coming into a home game
and playing well. We do that and the scoreboard will hopefully
       go our way.
“Part of what we do as coaches is to make sure the playing group
are preparing well and have a good perspective on things,
knowing that on Saturday we’re 80 minutes away from getting a
       win if we play well.
“A big part of the game when you lose a few consecutive games in
a row is making sure that we’re not panicking in what we do in
preparation for the next game. It’s been really pleasing to see
that everyone, across the performance programme, has been able
to take a balanced view of what we’re doing at the moment. I
think that’s a credit to the type of environment we have here at
the moment. We’ve got another ten or so Premiership games, so
it’s about moving forward, staying enthusiastic and staying in
       the fight.”

Great to see Lawday and Chisholm returning to the bench for some
       much needed back row power.

Good wasps team… but good to see we have players back. No
excuses for us tomorrow like I think we had over last few weeks.
not sure why Lawday and Chis aren’t starting if they’re fit
       enough for the bench.
Biggest game of the season tomorrow for me. Against a team right
on our coattails, need to win and stay in that top 4.

They've been off for a while and won't be match fit. Better to
ease them into the game than throw them in and have them break
       again.

Interesting that they're giving Edwards the shirt. Attacking
flair has been almost non-existent in recent weeks.
