I thought your post highlighted that he was a seasoned
international. Particularly the bit where you said "yes he is".

Going round in circles, ok, I fold.
Allan is the best back up fly half Quins ever had, Italy are a
great international team ranked 14th in the world so by
extension thier ex flyhalf is in fact superb and no other fly
half should have a chance at Quins as he's so fantastic and
anyone who says otherwise has an agenda against him irrelevant
of anyone's view or match results oh and is ignorant!
       Is that better?

Funny QP, but are you sure you won't be criticised on here for
       having an opinion..........

You dismissed his credentials as a ‘seasoned international’
because he played for Italy not really from any kind of actual
analysis of his time in an Italian shirt.
I like Edwards as an instinctive, attacking player but he is
learning his craft as a 10. You are entitled to your opinion but
to say Edwards is already a better fly half than Allan based
upon his 4 starts, dismissing Allan’s experience as essentially
meaningless along the way is fanciful to say the least.

Ok, so by your logic if you are an international flyhalf you are
by definition a highly skilled rugby player in said position and
that no other player on the team you play for should have the
opportunity to start a match? If you read my opening post it is
asking 'should Edwards we given the opportunity': not Edwards is
       better that Allan !

wrong, sorry for having I dependant thought.
I should know better by now......

The trouble is, you keep changing your argument.
Your opening post posed a reasonable question, albeit on minimal
analysis. Your second post literally said he is ‘better or more
suited to the Harlequins way than Allan’.
I’m not saying Edwards shouldn’t have ‘the opportunity to start
a match’ because he’s competing with Allan. I’m just saying
pushing the narrative that Edwards is the superior player based
upon one data point and then getting annoyed when you’re
challenged isn’t much of a debating position.
As I said before, I like Edwards and I actually agree that he
might be ‘more suited to the Harlequins way than Allan’ is, but
he has a lot to learn as a fly half and it’s both premature and
somewhat disrespectful to Allan’s career to say he’s already the
better player. I’d favour Allan for games where game management
and playing a more tactical game, but I’m all for Edwards
playing when we think it’s going to be unstructured.

Edwards seems to have the more natural game for quins style of
       play, in my opinion.
For me, he is now our no2 fly half. His skill set coming from 7s
       is proving very interesting. I don't think I've seen a 7s player
come to the 15 man game and play fly half.
Normally it's wing and or full back.
Whether he is better than Allen is a moot point, he has to be
congratulated for his development, the coaches too, who have
helped polish what started out as a rough diamond.
