       England team to face Italy
   DIR By: Fearless Fred

Eddie Jones has named his England team to face Italy in the
       Guinness Six Nations this weekend
  HTML https://www.englandrugby.com/news/article/six-nations-rugby-england-italy-eddie-jones-names-team.
England travel to Rome to take on Italy at the Stadio Olimpico
on Sunday 13 February (3pm KO).
Tom Curry will continue to captain the side. Jamie George and
Will Stuart start in the front row, alongside Ellis Genge at
loose-head prop. Charlie Ewels and Nick Isiekwe are named at
lock. Maro Itoje moves to blind-side flanker and Alex Dombrandt
       is at No. 8.
Harry Randall will start at scrum half, Marcus Smith is at fly
half with Jack Nowell (left) and Max Malins (right) on the
wings. Joe Marchant is at outside centre, Henry Slade is at
inside centre and Freddie Steward is full back.
Ben Youngs could become the joint most-capped England men’s
player of all time, alongside Jason Leonard, after being named
as a finisher. Youngs made his debut against Scotland in March
2010 and is in line to add to his 113 caps on Sunday.
Ollie Chessum could also make his England debut this weekend,
and is joined by Luke Cowan-Dickie, Joe Marler, Kyle Sinckler,
Sam Simmonds, George Ford and Elliot Daly on the bench. Genge,
Slade and Cowan-Dickie are also named as vice captains.
"We’ve set ourselves the target of playing really well and
lighting up Rome," said head coach Jones. "We’ve made some
changes and this is the best side to face Italy. We want to
start fast and take the game to them.
"They can be a dangerous team and have some very good players in
the likes of Garbisi, Negri and Lamaro.
"It’s been a difficult week, but the players have bounced back
well, trained hard and are ready to put on a good performance on
       Sunday."

A refreshingly decent side, particularly in the backs.
I am worried about the second row, and would of prefered Itoje
to start and give a debut to Chessum. Ewels has never impressed
me at all, anytime i've seen him.
I just hope if the players he's selected to start (Looking at
the likes of Randall/Dombrandt in particular), if they play well
they are given their chance in the following games. Being a
cynic of EJ I imagine he has selected them to quieten some of
his selection criticisms, before then just reverting back to his
favoured ones regardless of how they perform for the "bigger"
       fixtures.

Is anyone else worried that the Fun Bus is named on the bench?
"alongside Jason Leonard, after being named as a finisher"

That, as they say, is more like it.

Playing players IN position? It'll never catch on... ;)

I really hope this is a sign that Eddie has faith in Marchant at
13 and won't bring Daly back in his place. I've no issue with
Daly on the Bench as he covers so many positions but Marchant
needs to be given a run of games now.

Seems pretty obvious to me he's just giving some players some
game time before they head back to the bench (Ewels, Stuart,
       George, Randall, etc)

Can Eddie accept being ridiculed by all the pundits for his odd
selections any more. They consistently fail .

Itoje being blindside does baffle me. At the World Cup, is Eddie
going to select him there? Probably not, as he knows lock is by
far his best position, and whilst he may cover the back row,
       there is a big difference.
It was the perfect opportunity to play Chessum to see if he can
       bring anything to the table.
