Has anyone heard any rumours of summer concerts this year at
Twickenham? I think there may be some 🤔

Not heard any rumours but really hope not…
       1) As a resident - partly
       2) But mainly as a live music fan - HQ is the single worst place
to see a band, utterly hopeless acoustics, just dreadful.

Err no ….strongly disagree as a local resident saw U2 and the
Stones both superb performances and sound systems just a few
       years ago

Any big enough tour to sell out at HQ would have been announced
by now. Logistics alone for a show that size take months to
arrange, let alone crewing and rigging. There may be "events"
planned like large conferences, even evangelical mission-type
events, but I seriously doubt there's concerts planned. There's
a limited number of acts who can sell out a venue the size of
Twickenham Stadium. Out of those, you have to ask what
percentage of them are currently or have announced a tour in the
last three years (to cover Covid postponements). Realistically,
none are popping up on the radar, and I doubt there's enough
time to arrange something this year given what's involved.

Seen a number including Metallica two years ago.
       So…..eerrrr yes,
Sound system is notably appalling, everything escapes or echoes
       badly.
Makes the O2 sound good (and the O2 is awful).

Is it actually possible to make Metallica sound good?

Twickenham is now down to Londons 5th stadium (Wembley, Arsenal,
Tottenham and Olympic) and 6th (Hyde Park) outdoor venue so
Concerts are likely to be few and far between in future.

Based on capacity, it is still #2, and capacity is important in
the business case of a venue for tours. More backsides on seats
means more revenue. None of them is really ideal in terms of
transport links. Wembley, Twickenham, & London stadiums at least
have the extra space around them to easily handle the multiple
of lorries required for the equipment, staging, lighting, etc
       that a big tour involves.
