ELS SIGNS NEW DEAL WITH HARLEQUINS

THE CLUB IS DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT LOOSEHEAD PROP JORDAN ELS
IS THE LATEST PLAYER TO SIGN A NEW DEAL WITH THE CLUB
24-year-old Els joins the list of names to have recommitted
their future to Harlequins of late, with the South African-born
front row becoming the 16th player to recommit in recent weeks.
Signing a new deal to remain at The Stoop having first arrived
from Greene King IPA Championship side Ealing Trailfinders in
2020 ahead of the resumption, Els has represented the Club 19
times to date with one try to his name.
Els has gone from strength to strength at the Club since joining
as one of the standout prop forwards in the Championship, going
on to play in both the Gallagher Premiership and Heineken
Champions Cup in the Famous Quartered jersey.
Commenting on his new deal, Els said: “I’m extremely excited to
have re-signed. My time at Harlequins so far has been fantastic.
This is a team that plays an expansive brand of rugby and
approaches the sport in a way that suits my own style of play.
“This is a tight group that achieved something special last
season in the run-up to the title and it has been a great
experience working under and learning from a coach of Adam
Jones’ calibre.
“I’ve loved my time in the Quarters to date and am thrilled to
continue my journey with this team.”
Harlequins Scrum Coach Adam Jones said: “It’s great to have
another member of our front row re-sign. Jordan has been a bit
unlucky with injuries recently, but he’s a dynamic young
loosehead who has shown great promise since joining from Ealing.
“We have a pretty strong collection of front rows at the moment
and we’re looking forward to seeing Jordan continue his time
with this team.”
