Neither Ealing or Doncaster included provisions to groundshare
within their application. Ealing had an agreement with QPR last
season but that was also turned down by the RFU (on the day of
the play off final first leg).

Probably old news but I was at the RAG on Sunday and noticed
that it appears to be the new home of London Broncos who were
playing a game in front of tens of people. Could have been a pre
season of course.
As for the promotion situation from the championship, are
the Premiership trying to create a closed shop? Is the
capacity issue to do with European fixtures.

The Broncos are waiting to begin a groundshare at Wimbledon
(Plough Lane).

I would guess that if either Doncaster or Ealing are serious,
they'll use the same legal stand as London Welsh did 10 years
ago. A legal precedent would have been set that excluding them
is against UK anti-competition regulations. That's especially
true if they can put in place a groundshare in the next couple
of months. I know LW were severely damaged by their sojourn in
the top flight, but ehir case had a number of exacerbating
factors like the team manager falsifying player eligibility
paperwork etc.

My understanding is that both clubs knew that theire
applications would be rejected. Last year Ealing found out on
the day of the play off final first leg, that their application
had been rejected and that included groundsharing with QPR. This
time around both Donny and Ealing wanted the feedback first so
that they could adequately plan their appeals with provisions in
place.

Of course, the premiership is not a cartel. Cartels are illegal.
The Premiership has enough good lawyers to ensure they stay on
the correct side of that line, just. As close as an
international #7 to the offside line.
