To be fair, most picks would only be relevant as a big draw to
certain demographics. You can't have anyone too "edgy" as that
will put off the "old fogies" and the "parents with younger
kiddly-winks" crowds.

Just from a logistics standpoint, it was always going to be
either a DJ, a singer on their own or at best a small band that
can get away with singing live, maybe playing guitars/keyboards
live, but to a drum backing track with the drumkit for show (not
mic-ed up). Anything else would just take too long to set up &
take down in the buildup to kickoff. You also are limited on
who's available, willing to do a short set in the afternoon at
an event that they're not the headline for, etc. You're not
going to get your Adele, Ed Sheeran, Rolling Stones, etc
agreeing to that! Also after the last couple of years, a lot of
acts are already out on the road fulfilling previously delayed
tour dates or their own new tours. Fitting in what would be a
small "corporate" job like this would be low on their priority
list.

Craig David and I come from the same housing estate (slum) near
Southampton docks.
He's made a few quid more than me though so fair play to him!
