You’d think so wouldn’t you!
Reckon it works both ways. Familiarity should mean the players
get used to how they ref. But equally the refs get used to how
certain players may try to get away with things.
Was just surprised that there wasn’t more variation. Earlier in
the season we had a different one each week and then to get the
same 2 for 5 out of 6 weeks seems a bit nuts.

Worst 2 x Refs in premiership, as far as I am concerned, awful
for both sides in a game!
Little empathy with the players and overly petty....

I don't know how many penalties we gave away today but last week
seemed to be far worse in terms of the number of pointless
penalties conceded. I thought for large parts today we made a
good fist of it considering the strength of the opposition.
Unfortunately the useless unforced errors went into overdrive.

Prem Rugby app says 7 pens (to Sale’s 13). Last week it has 15
(to Bath’s 8)

Crikey, I thought it would have been more than 7. We seemed to
give away at least 5 in the last 10 minutes or so!

The result today was what I expected but the contributory
factors weren't. I thought our pack would be dominated but our
backs on paper would have the quality to make it a close
contest. In the end it was the opposite. I thought our pack did
quite well against a massive Sale pack (which got even bigger
when a 4th Du Preez came on as substitute !). We really needed
our backs to fire and our senior experienced players to step up
today and they didn't. Handling errors are repeatedly killing us
in the opposition half and whilst I know it was very windy,
Sale's backs didn't seem to suffer to the same extent.
Confidence seems to be an issue when our internationals are away
- particularly Lynagh who seems a shadow of himself since his
injury layoff.

Is that the record number of South Africans ever to play for a
side in a Prem game? Looked to be 10 In the Sale match day 23,
4 of which were du Preez’s. Did someone say the rules are
changing regarding EQP in a squad? Packing a side with
imports doesn’t support development of English players and
distorts the Premiership when other sides are losing players for
weeks on end to the Six Nations squads.

Spoke with Wilco, Will Collier and Stephan today and all expect
to be available for Sarries, CSW says he is itching for his
chance ( but he has said that for weeks) but was also doing
early drills this afternoon. Didn't see Evans or Chis and Tom
only went past at the end so couldn't speak to him.

Tommy Allan is a steady 10 but doesn't seem to read the game too
well. I think I remember only 1 chip kick over the heads of the
onrushing defenders. We were not able to find much joy playing
through or round them. Do it a few times and it makes defenders
think twice about rushing up so fast.

edwards is a better ten then Allan imho
