Lets not dwell too much on today. We got dominiated on the gain
line, which was expected given the line ups, and that makes it a
difficult game.
Given our pack were depleted I thought Care and Allan were
particularly poor. Missed touches and offside penalties a
plenty.

Care was unlucky with one of the offside calls, he was entitled
to do what he did.
The howling gale probably had something to do with the touch
kicks, Sale struggled there too.

I think that the fact that they could bring on multiple
internationals and we matched that with academy players says
enough. I knew this was the likely outcome today. Our handling
today wasn’t up to standard and what has Eddie done to Louis And
Luke? With the players available it’s going to be hard going
over the next few weeks. Ironic that we end up playing teams
with few internationals if any out over the SN period.

Louis has been bowing hot and cold for a while. There's been a
fair number of matches like yesterday, where there's been little
impact in attack, a lot of missed tackles, and silly errors.
He's still very young and inexperienced and frankly it made
little sense to me that he was called up this time.

The back row was very poor today, no threat with carrying, no
big defensive plays and no turnovers won (think Beard & Kerrod
won the only ones today). Think that makes a huge difference as
Sale always had quick ball unlike Quins.
A shame Huw Jones was injured today as Northmore hasn’t been
able to train with Quins whilst away with England and I think
that showed as he had his poorest game for quite some time.
2nd row packed the balance of a more athletic lock as Tizard &
Symons are both heavy duty but lack the dynamism of Lewies /
Lamb
Care very poor today, got on wrong side of ref which compounded
problems.
Ironic when quins scrum has been on top there haven’t been many
scrums in matches and today when they were second best there
were a hatful of scrums from unforced errors.
Hopefully Wilco, Collier, Evans, Chisholm & Lawday are available
soon - think they’ll make a huge difference and give confidence
to the rest of the squad

Seeing Mr Tempest reffing us today I thought that we seemed to
have had a lot of the same refs a lot recently. So being a bore
I took a look back over the last few games and we have. Since we
played London Irish at home back in around 9 we’ve had Messrs
Tempest or Foley every game aside from BG13 when Wayne Barnes
was ref. Familiarity probably breeding contempt in our case!
