The subs killed us. The back row was bot great but when you are
on your 6th 7th and 8th choice, therewill be a drop.
Players to come back (sure I saw Lewies walking around with his
boots before the game?).
We wont win every game, but were not the o ly side with
internationals missing. 6N gonna be a slog for a few teams. Just
need to hold in there.

Foley was missing so much that it was killing anything we tried.
Hughs grabbing hold of the ball as Danny was trying to pick the
ball out of a ruck, Foley says leave it but no pen for us. He
couldn’t see Luke either as he missed the amount of times he had
the ball for a turn over but gave nothing. In a close game like
that it’s those things that make the difference. We weren’t
great but Bath had some help.

The BT commentators, particularly fat boy Goode, revelled in
Quins mistakes. The ref was poo

Of course its fair to point it out, but there is also some
complete undergarments wetting going on as well.

Was at the game, absolute crud all round. Don’t mind losing but
an unbelievably boring game to watch. Hughes was good on debut.
First time at the Rec, nice ground but zero atmosphere, even
towards the end it was like a library. Need to step up for next
week massively.

Green may need a break but I dont think the problem is the
backs, it's with the forwards (ie we are running out of them).
Could bot get any go forward. We actually scored some lovely
tries tonight but we couldnt get to grips up front

For those who spent most of the post-match period last week
yelling at anyone who was vaguely negative about the
performance, this is why. Our get-out-of-jail wins have been
papering over some big cracks, and they got pulled wide open
tonight.
Totally agree the injuries hurt us and some of the starters
should not be anywhere near a full strength side, but it's still
a continuation on a theme recently of us bombing chances, being
incredibly casual, and some really, really poor tackling.
Foley is Foley, he loves it if you're physically dominant. BT
were desperate for Bath to win with Goode and co literally
urging them on but that was just an irritating cherry on top.
Green needs a proper break - put David at 15, pick Lynagh, find
another back 3 option for the bench (Beard, I guess).

I get the crowd who like to get on their high horse and not
blame the ref but tonight was a shambles.
today we had two completely different referees at the breakdown.
One who pinged Quins immediately for not rolling (4/5 times
maybe) when they got in the way of Bath ball, even though there
was a load of holding in of Quins defenders.
Then on Quins ball, we had another ref. This one seemingly let
be all loose, anything was allowed. Prime example was Hughes in
the middle of a ruck picking the ball up and stopping Care going
quickly. Ref says drop it, but no pen. Crazy.
Maybe Quins didn’t play tonight, we have decimated by injuries
in the back row and call ups. Funnily enough we have more
players unavailable tonight than poor little Bath. Also we could
never get our game going because of the inconsistency of the
ref.
A bad ref isn’t necessarily bad if he’s consistent. What is
incredibly bad and frustrating is the badness being inconsist.

Not sure that's true, they've a long injury list and a few
callups on top.

What you have to remember about BT is that they love an
underdog, and especially an underdog playing at home. It let's
them go big on the "against the odds" narrative and drum up some
excitement for any neutrals watching.
They need to tell an exciting story however tepid the match is,
which is why they tend to play down factors like ref errors,
missing internationals, injuries or (e.g.) us losing Collier
early on..... they don't ever want to spoil the narrative with
negatives like that.
That said, I generally like BT commentary but it's usually
obvious from kick-off what result they'd like to see. And last
season we were the underdogs and benefited from copious praise
and hype as a result.
Goode can do one though, he's a **** !
