I sit in the south stand and had a group of at least 25 lads
standing up all the time ,they played drinking games taking it
in turn to stand and drink a pint and turn the empty cup over
there head,I never got to see a try because of people forever
standing up it’s turning more in to a football mentality which
ruins it for the true Quins fans.

I am no spring chicken but really like the atmosphere - it ramps
up the excitement for me. Without being ageist I would suggest
the negative comments regarding the music being too loud are
from the 'more mature' season ticket holders ? -yes any constant
leaving seats and abusive language is not to be encouraged so I
get that -there seemed to be a group of 'happy' loud supporters
in the lower part of the South stand that maybe attended for
Friday night drinkies🤔

I think the activities of the boisterous group in the south
stand is nothing like a football crowd. You would definitely not
have a bunch of lads having drinking games at football. It’s
very much a “posh boy’s rugby“ activity. A football match has a
far more aggressive, abusive and intimidating atmosphere where
there is drunken behaviour even though you cannot drink in view
of the pitch.

Out of interest, how do you travel to games?

The bit that gets me more annoyed than anything is standing up
in the middle of play (especially when a try is looking likely).
I had a group near me in the south stand (who were in their 50’s
so it’s not just “youngsters”). I politely asked them after the
2nd time to wait for a break in play and got an offensive
response. I then went out to get a beer mid way through the 2nd
half when there was an injury and when returning waited at the
top of the stairs as play was ongoing. People then just walked
past me and the steward did nothing (I can only think people
thought I wanted to watch the game on the stairs). I then moved
when there was another break in play. Not difficult.
I won’t be getting season tickets again in the south stand
because of this which is a shame as I like seeing running lines
but when you miss tries because of idiots, it just isn’t worth
it

At Worcester the other Friday the stewards didn’t let people
back into stand until a break in play , it worked well

No they don't, and any that do aren't following instructions to
keep the vomitory clear.

The original point of my post was regarding the bad behaviour
you seem to get a lot more of on Friday nights. SiB you seem to
think this was about the lights and fireworks which it wasn't.
I don't think you meant that we just have to accept drunk,
abusive language, having your view constantly blocked during
play and having to walk past lines of males urinating in open
view, but if you did then apart from watching quins, I don't
think we have a lot in common.
