Friday Night Crowd

The people that Friday night games attract is very different to
other days and times. It was not too bad in my seat, but
several people who sit in other parts of the stadium have
commented that last Friday they had people constantly leaving
their seats during the game including when kicks were being
taken. Some very loud, well oiled lads coming in the turnstiles
when in I came in. Line of lads urinating against the wall of
the apartments outside The Stoop when we left. Lots of
swearing, including the `C` word as I made my way back to the
car. Thankfully none of these people were near me in the
ground, but I feel sorry for anyone sitting near them. I have
decided that I wouldn't bring anyone new to a Friday night game.

Actually think one of the things we just have to get used to

I do remember some utter morons in front of us a few years ago
who were giving the Bristol subs (including the brilliant Harry
Randall) abuse disguised as banter. I looked at the steward and
he was laughing! Great!
It is perhaps more common in football but not absent from rugby.
Sorry to hear that the c-bomb was dropped and that those oiks
were urinating. Maybe worth letting the club know in the
feedback form so that they can make a few more announcements. If
that will help.
One of the reasons I came back to watching rugby after my
playing days was that I knew it would be a brilliant environment
to bring my son. Which it always is, even on a Friday night.
Long may that last.

Yes Friday nights are always worse. I left straight after final
whistle my dad popped to the loo and caught me up at the car
park, apparently he saw a bit of a scrap between what looked
like very drunken mates. Could have just been messing about but
from what he said it seemed pretty real.

Worried that many people appear to be re selling their seats.
Hope we don't get the after work drunk gang near us!!

Although, to be fair, it is a bit tricky getting drunk before
work.

Think a lot of us need to wake up and understand those that have
been going for many years and supporting the team, are not
what’s important at the Stoop anymore.
Friday night lights shift tickets and make money, people want to
hear the American football style music every break, not
interested in hearing London calling or the joker and the thief
Those that get up and go to the bar and karzee all the time are
where the moneys at, they also love all of the stuff a lot of as
described recently by one of Quins media as “ Old , stale, Male
and Pale” don’t
It’s just not for us

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say "it's not just for us?". As
a Quins fan you should want the business to be viable, and that
means being able to attract and grow the crowds. We will
inevitably have some Friday night games, because the TV
schedules demand it. If it takes a slightly different style of
entertainment to draw a Friday night crowd, then that's the
price of keeping the club growing.
Personally I thought the difference was negligible, but then I
sit in the relatively posh bit where most of the attendees are
STHs
