Also: Smith and Marchant on the bench just in case we need a
last minute comeback.
Smith is interesting as a bench player. It feels a bit like when
England started with de Glanville and Carling and everyone
wondered why Guscott was on the bench, when in hindsight it was
so that they could soften up the opposition for 50-60 minutes
and allow Guscott to come on and rip them to shreds in the last
quarter.
You just know that he will be watching the game and spotting
where the opportunities are to attack. If he does get on, it
could be a repeat of the Bristol match at the start of the
season. Late in a game against tiring legs he can be
devastating.

Yep. Barlot and Vanverberghe are in France’s 6N squad.

I like that team. Few players getting a rest, some getting a
chance, but without fielding a completely 2nd string.
Lawday and Chisholm being injured isn't good news.

No lawday has got an injury to his hand I think . Don’t think
it’s serious, fingers crossed, but it was heavily strapped
against Cardiff. Hopefully back for Bath!
Will we have our England contingent for Bath or not?

It was (insofar as any injury can be) hilarious listening to the
commentary when he injured it... "Oh, Lawday appears to have
picked up a hand injury... My God, they're surely not going to
keep him on like that, are they?? They appear to be strapping
some sort of device to his fingers!!! Oops... Sorry, my
mistake, he's just holding his gum shield!" ;D

Some classic commentating on some classic Marler banter, and
with no injury to plague the conscience!
