I never like seeing a player injured but i hope Smith will be
able to show that Jones' opinion of having Farrell at 12 to
support smith is a terrible idea and not needed

In fairness, I would pick Randall at scrum half. However I was
picking what I think Jones will do. No way is Randall playing if
Farrell is not in the team. Jones values the experience that
Youngs brings. I'm happy if he gets a half and Randall a half.
Randall would run them off the park when they are tiring.

How’s smithy going to cope without Farrell running the game for
him 😭
Looking forward for smithy to show what he can do off his own
back, think Slade 12 Marchant 13 will work, both centres would
be quick to react when smith pulls something off

I think the more important point is that it's three players who
can each create something, which gives the defence more options
to watch. Smith's game is based on waiting for the defence to
commit to one option, and then doing something else.
The Quirke try was a great case in point. Smith looping round
behind made the defence hesitate a moment, and created the space
to put Marchant through. But if they'd bit in on Marchant, Smith
would have had space to kick or pass outside the defence.
Exactly, in fact, what Gatland's Lions tactic of trying to get
the ball quickly to the 13 was designed to do. But what it was
missing was players coming round behind Daly to give de Allende
and Am pause, so Am just nailed him over and over again.
