Yes, all will be wearing the same cap but will any clubs be
       hiding things under it? ;)

I really like this reference to hiding under a cap as it implies
both shelter (from inclement weather) and privacy. What seem to
be the main techniques employed to avoid the salary cap? Err,
       housing and image rights.
       Well done TQ

half by a distance, and still one of the best 9's in the league.
He plays every game and is critical to our style of play. So
whilst he's no spring chicken he still, in my opinion,
       represents value for money.

Sorry KQ, have to disagree. No one's has said Care should leave
because he is old, rather that he is not at the level he once
was, which we would expect as he gets older. We can't disguise
the fact that there are more errors creeping into his game
(pointless kicks, standing 5 metres off of a maul/scrum just as
we turn the ball over and needlessly running at 2 massive
forwards and losing the ball) and as a result, it costs us good
       territory.
It's impossible for Steele/Gjaltema/Stafford to improve without
any game time so it becomes a circular argument. Not denying
that he still has moments of magic but they are just moments
now. By all means stay on at a reduced salary but I'd like to
see the others get more game time and him come on later in games
and help see them out. If he were to get injured, we'd have to
rely on someone who has played less than 100 mins (or so) in the
       Prem this season.
He's still a bloody legend though.

What we don’t know these days is who are Marquee players are. If
they are out of contract we have to cut from 2 to 1. If they are
both still in contract we can continue with 2 next year. Is
       Wilcow one?

Maybe the weirdly timed Andre renewal at the beginning of this
season was bringing him out of that marquee slot? I can't see
why else we did it then instead of with the current bunch. It
may have been to give us a clearer picture of the whole wage
       structure.
My money would be on Smith honestly. He's almost certainly the
highest earner so giving him no wage ceiling means he's harder
to poach in the future for clubs who would have to bring him
       within their cap.
I would suggest that means Wilco will be off sooner rather than
later (assuming he's on a biggish wedge)

I thought the marquee player had to be an import and as Marcus
is playing for England, he can’t be an import.

Don’t get me wrong I’d like to keep all 3 but of those
suggestions I’d be happier to see Wilco leave as I think we’ve
got good quality behind him in Collier and Kerrod.
But I’d rather they all stayed of course.

little more to tempt them or as in Ford and Genge they’re going
home. If there are suddenly loads of players available does it
not lower the value overall. The other problem is that a team
won’t be any good with ten superstars as the rest will always be
the weak links. You need a careful balance. It must be very
complicated trying to do all this with overlapping contracts
       marquees academy credits etc.

Marquee can’t be signed from another Prem club but I think can
       be home-grown talent.
