       Will Edwards re-signs

HARLEQUINS IS THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE THAT FLY-HALF WILL EDWARDS
       HAS RE-SIGNED WITH THE CLUB
26-year-old fly-half Edwards is the fourth player to re-sign
with the Club over the last week, following Alex Dombrandt, Luke
       Northmore and Sam Riley.
Arriving at The Stoop ahead of the 2020/21 season from the
England Sevens programme, Edwards quickly transitioned back into
the 15-man game, showing himself to be well-suited to the Club’s
expansive, attacking style of play following his three years
       with the national programme.
Debuting for the Club at Thomond Park in the Heineken Champions
Cup against European giant Munster in December 2020, Edwards
went on to play three games for the Club in his first season,
earning a first start against Sale Sharks at the AJ Bell Stadium
       later that campaign.
Edwards’ breakthrough game in his return to 15s came in a
standout performance against Wasps at the start of the 2021/22
campaign. Despite picking up a minor injury during the warmup at
the Coventry Building Society Arena, Edwards went on to help
drive Quins to a stunning comeback, earning the Player of the
Match award having guided the team to overcome a 16-0 deficit at
half-time to an eventual 16-26 win.
       20220115204036
Edwards also made waves during his third Premiership start for
the Club, guiding the team to a thrilling victory over
Northampton Saints at Big Game 13 last December that saw Quins
score six tries. To date, Edwards has made seven appearances and
scored 18 points for the Club.
Thrilled to extend his time in the Famous Quarters, Edwards
said: “I’m over the moon to sign with a club like this one.
Quins is at the top of the game at the moment and to be part of
       that is amazing.
“It’s been a steep learning curve coming from Sevens to 15s,
especially in the ten position because there’s a lot of
knowledge you have to gain and a lot of calls you have to commit
to memory. But the guys and the coaches around me have been
fantastic and have made it quite an easy transition in that
       sense.
“Playing in Big Game, it’s a once in a lifetime experience and I
loved every second of it. I spoke to Danny [Care] about how much
he loves playing at the Big Game every year. To be able to do
that at Quins was unbelievable. The support I’ve seen at The
Stoop as well has been incredible. I think they’re probably one
of the loudest crowds I’ve played in front of. It’s out of this
       world.
“I’m looking forward to pushing on with Quins. We want to be a
top four team and we’re aiming for good things in Europe as
well. I just want to put one foot in front of the other and keep
pushing and learning every day and enjoy my time here.”
       20220115204113
Attack and Backs Coach Nick Evans said: “It’s great to have Will
recommit his future to Quins. Will came in from Sevens and has
stepped back into the 15s game in impressive fashion.
“The way he has taken the opportunities that have come his way
this season has been brilliant, our game against Wasps away and
       Big Game 13, in particular.
“Will’s instinct for attack and the all-round skills he has
transferred from Sevens to 15s has really helped him fit into
our way of playing. We’re thrilled to have him recommit to the
       journey this team is on.”

Good news as 3rd choice goes we’ve had far worse and I’m sure
       there’s more improvement to come.

We’ve had plenty of second choice fly halves who haven’t had the
       impact that Edwards has had.

Did Jarvis or Malone ever make it to 1st choice?

A bit of an over reaction by Heisenberg. It's only a game after
       all
