Irish and got as many tickets as they could for them and family
to support Munster that day. If I remember correctly, each team
was allocated so many tickets each and then there were all the
corporate ones for dignitaries etc. The ERC was based in Dublin
and was almost entirely run by Irish people so I’ve no idea how
so many tickets can have found their way into Munster hands.

Tickets were in Munster hands because of Quins supporters, as
the club announced. Nothing to do with ERC at all.

I would be really surprised if half of all the Quins supporters
coughed up their tickets for a few quid unless they had kindly
let their staff go . You really can’t fully trust the servants
not to take hard cash for anything you know.

       -Not true in our case.
-We were turfed out of our usual seats in Row S & given a far
less desirable pair much lower down -in the same block- against
our wishes, in amongst a sea of Munster flags; barely saw half
       the game..

That's what they said they suspected at the time and announced
the inspection but nothing further was said, possibly due to the
ERC connection. There were supposed to be 25% of the tickets
allocated for Munster fans but there were a lot more than that.
Paul O'Connell, returning from injury was immense that day. I'd
expected him to be a bit rusty but he was nothing of the sort!

Yes, that was because ERC rules required 25% and a certain
spread among the categories. We had too many STs in some
categories. Unfortunate for those like yourselves.
Don't know what the current requirement is. Or whether we have
       as many STs.

The reason people are thinking of the quarters is because
they've got a rather odd way of selecting home advantage.
The round of 16 is, as you say, a double leg, so there's no home
advantage there (although the highest placed teams are home
second, if that's an advantage), but the quarters are a single
leg with home advantage going to whichever of the two teams
placed highest in the group stage.
Before getting to the quarters, though, the havoc caused by
Covid means that the table is not going to finish with teams
placed on merit, so it's actually possible that we could end up
playing a much stronger team in the round of 16 with home
advantage in the quarters should we beat them, or potentially a
weaker round of 16 opponent, but an away quarter... :o
Interestingly, if I've understood it correctly then with one
group round left to play, Ospreys are the only side of the 16
who mathematically cannot make it through to the round of 16?
