But since Ospreys would need to beat Sale and Montpellier beat
Exeter, it looks very likely we’re stuck with Sanderson and his
smiling Saffers. Oh joy.

Looks like we’re on a tough side of the draw either way …
Still, being the underdog would probably suit us and we’ve done
well in knockout scenarios recently.

To be fair, it's not like there's ever an easy side of the draw
in the champions cup.

You're forgetting one tiny little point, which is that if Sale
beat Ospreys, they score points!
The only permutation which sees Sale finishing in seventh is if
both Exeter and Ospreys win.

If Chiefs and Sale win (most likely scenario), we get Clermont.
If Montpellier and Sale win (2nd most likely scenario) we get
Montpellier. Also we should be 3rd seeds, more tries, points and
better points difference than Ulster

Montpellier is a strange one. Their win was a COVID one and they
got humped twice away.
But they're a good side and any win means they qualify. Do they
care?

Odd seeds are Pool A and even seeds are Pool B.
