Yes I have about 6/7 years ago for Calcutta Cup.

I've applied and been successful a number of times in the past.
Anecdotally I'd say I've managed to get tickets through the club
between 10 & 20% of the times I've applied. I'm a bit more picky
now about which games I'm going for though. I've seen England vs
Wales England vs Ireland a few times now, but never a Calcutta
Cup game, so this year I'm happy to watch at hope this year, but
I'll be putting in for the France, Scotland & Italy games next
year.

I sacked off the ERSC as in 4 years of membership I didn't
receive any 6N games (I didn't go for the Italy matches) and
only ever got Australia in the Autumn internationals so felt
that I was rather being taken for a mug

It was through the ERSC (as was) that I managed to get the ten
tickets for RWC2015. It was a shame to not be allowed to try for
England tickets, but to get to the two QFs at Cardiff, & take my
late mum to see NZ vs Arg at Wembley (including the pantomime
booing of St Richie of McCaw after his yellow card that we all
enjoyed!) was worth the small outlay!

I've won't the lottery 37 times - once I won £7.80.

I always found that the best possible chance of getting a ticket
was by being a "proper" member of a smaller club. Quins have
several thousand members potentially wanting tickets through
their ballot, whereas our local club has a few hundred, most of
whom are members primarily because there has to be an adult
member with any playing child.
I wouldn't dream of paying the prices charged now for
internationals worth seeing - the RFU ratcheted the prices right
up for the 2015 RWC and never put them back down again - but
prior to then, I was successful in every ballot I applied for,
so have seen England play every other Tier One nation there at
least a couple of times.

Absolutely this.
Also they used to allocate tickets based on the numbers of teams
and juniors, I believe. Not sure how they do the allocation now.
Factor in that Quins keep a chunk of their allocation for their
own corporate arrangements and the odds are relatively slim.

The RFU used to be public as to the percentage allocation of
tickets for each type of ballot, sadly they have removed the
image from the page that has
this...
HTML https://www.eticketing.co.uk/rfu/Common/CustomPage/Index/1...<br
/>but I found an old image on the internet...
[attachimg=1]
As to the Community Rugby Club allocations the RFU have changed
this 2 years ago with 1100 Community Rugby clubs on average
getting 2-3 more tickets than they used to.
Hopefully Quins will put us out of our misery soon by actually
starting the ballot process......
