Please thank your mate for doing it very interesting. Anything
called Devonshire will have been part of the Duke of Devonshire
estate. Not sure if the records are held at Chatsworth or in
London or Eastbourne. But I am sure if you start with the
archivist at Chatsworth they’ll point you in the right
direction. Let’s hope any records survived the war.

As i am sitting not half a mile from the Wimbledon sites i would
venture that the polo field is on the east side of the lake in
what is now known as Wimbledon Park. It didn't become a public
park until just before WW 1.
Wimbledon Sports Club i would venture it what is now known as
Wimbledon Club and is on the west side of the lake.It is home to
Wimbledon Cricket Club and Wimbledon Hockey Club.
As is mentioned in the commentary 3 minutes from Southfields
Station would be legging it a bit but are less than a mile.
i am sure I am not the only one relieved that Catford didn't
becomethe permanent home of Harlequins.

Excellent production and very interesting.
It's amazing how many and how varied in location the places we
played were.
Catford was certainly a new one on me! It's a shame we didn't do
the Oval, that's just down the road from were I lived as a lad.
Although I do remember the old running track at the Stoop, we
used to go to the Stoop for Athletics from my pre prep. We did
RAG for rugby and cricket and the Stoop for Athletics. That's
getting on for 40 years ago though....

I don't understand the bit about playing at White City. Why did
we choose to play there when we were already playing at the Big
Stoop?
Especially if this is for the a-team, etc.
Or, was this a plan to move all games there as we couldn't play
at the Big Stoop when internationals were playing?
