Stoop and Covid passes
DIR By: Fairfax
Date: January 10, 2022, 10:59 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Given that Covid passes or negative tests are now required for
entry to venues with a capacity of 10k plus - a point emphasised
in Quins pre-match information ie:
“All over 18s will be required to show proof of either i) double
vaccination, or ii) a negative COVID-19 test result (PCR,
Lateral Flow or European equivalent) to be able to attend live
sporting events, the test result must be within 48 hours prior
to attending the event. Nothing is required of under-18s.
- Proof must be provided as either an email, text or through the
NHS app, a photo of a test will not be sufficient.
- Unless spectators are exempt, and can provide proof of this,
they will be refused entry to the ground and no refunds will be
allocated. This is in-line with the latest Government
restrictions and is a legal requirement we must adhere to.
- We recommend downloading your COVID-19 vaccination pass to
your Apple/Google wallet, or saving it as a PDF from the NHS
App, in order to prevent delays due to lack of wifi
- Supporters are asked to arrive early as additional checks will
delay entry into the ground”
So I was surprised when three of us arrived st 2:55pm (thanks to
a large hole in the south end of Whitton Rd no-one showed any
interest in our Covid status and we just when through the
turnstiles as normal.
Was this the same for everyone?

Arrived at 1:30 via Gate 1, everyone I saw was asked for their
Covid Pass or equivalent and this was "checked" before were
allowed to enter the turnstiles (although it was at best a
cursory check, having presented my pass there was no way he
could have looked to see if the date was valid before saying
"that's OK, please carry on" and certainly no attempt was made
to confirm that the pass was in fact, mine - which it was...)

I went in through Gate 2 around 1:25pm & they checked me before
I went into the turnstile. I think because that Gate's usually
the least used one, they had more time to be able to check every
person entering. At the other gates they may have been told to
check one in five or something similar.

They checked me, including checking the date of expiry and, he
did look at my birth date. Probably checking that I was indeed
21 years old

We arrived about 2.45 and were checked. I suspect it may depend
on who’s on the gate at the time and how well drilled they’ve
been

They had people checking in the gate two queues . I couldn’t
load my NHS app thingy as my last one had expired so got in with
my paper one. They didn’t look very closely.
