Flanker from the Lions in SA.

Taulani has only just signed. Wallace and White could well be
moving on. Lawday is an interesting one. I think he has been
playing well but maybe he has decided to move on (when everyone
is fit, he could struggle for gametime). And then we have the
academy lads.

I'm not sure that it's Lawday who would struggle for game time.
He does an awful lot of the unglamorous work, and the team needs
someone like that. Is he really below Chisholm in the pecking
order?

If they were all fit I'd be going...
Dombrandt Evans and Kenningham with Chisholm on the Bench. Nice
balance and some grunt to come on

What if WEV's injury has ended his top flight career? I hope it
hasn't, but I seem to recall he was hoping to be playing late
November, but the last update I saw he was back in hospital.

I posted something similar on here back in autumn when we were
last linked to another flanker - perhaps the Argentinian -
there’ve certainly been complications for WEv: let’s hope not
too bad though.
He’d have made a difference yesterday, although the Exe forwards
were excellent at clearing out rucks and protecting their ball
carriers.

It might seem a ridiculous statement but I wonder if Archie
White's future is linked to the fact that he's dating Jess
Breach? I can't see the club letting her go and if White was to
go to a rival outside of London, would it impact her thinking as
it did with Abbie Ward?
I know it shouldn't matter but these are still kids and when
they're loved up, it makes the mind work in different ways.
Assuming that they're still an item, of course.

I can imagine there will be quite a few squad players that are
looking for gigs this summer with the reduced cap. Smaller
squads and all that. Not saying for White in particular, but
there could be a few that might find themselves without a club.
Id be surprised to see Breach leave Quins.

Hopefully the championship will get a full covid free season in.
Basically, some of the championship teams are non professional.
So, there aren't many options for players to go. But, the
championship teams are getting good numbers through the
turnstiles for the games that do go ahead. So, hopefully teams
like London Scottish will go Pro again at some point

I understand signing some back row depth because:
Dombrandt is the only senior 8 at the club. Lawday and Chisholm
are 6s that can play 8. If Dombrandt is away with England, there
are gaps at 6, because one of those two has to play 8. This is a
bigger problem if Kenningham also gets called up.
After two operations, there'll be question marks about Wev being
the same player again. Maybe they've had news to that effect?
Wallace is probably on a shorter term deal. Would suspect he
might be one to make way.
Tshituka is a 6'5 openside flanker. Looks quick, athletic,
lineout option and v. comfortable with ball in hand. Very
different 7 to Wev and more athletic than Kenningham but not a
jackal. Probably a 6/7 in English rugby although could bulk up
and play 8. Would fit quite well I think. Young guy as well.
Very much fits the profile of the sort of player we look to
bring in.

Anyone know if the cap is changing for next season? I'd hope it
would be going back up.

I thought Tshituka is more of a 6/8 rather than a 7. With
Dombrandt likely to be missing for large parts of next season,
it would allow us to still have a back rower athletic enough to
play out in the backs like Dommers does. If we lost
White/Wallace and replaced them with Tshituka and Trenholm, I’d
argue our back row would be one of the strongest in the league.

Do you mean the 22/23 season or 23/24? The cap is dropping from
£6.4m to £5M for 22/23 and only one marquee. That’s what’s
driving all the movement and players like Fifita apparently
signing for Scarlets after only half a season at Wasps.
