Problem with the kicks ( And fully understand there is a plan)
they aren’t very good, I’m sure he’s told to kick to space, so
we can chase, but invariably he kicks straight to the opposition
Crumpton was great at getting the line out right, but he was
taken off

Have to say, 4 penalties for Marler was the highest in the team,
then next was Dave Ward with 2 and then a slew of 1s. 5 of our
13 penalties came from the game changes. Not good, considering
the time they were on the pitch. I said it during the game,
these penalties are killing us. Look at Kyle Sinckler's penalty
for hinging. Bristol booted it upfield, got another penalty,
booted it for a line out (I think) got another penalty. Easy 3
points. And we started off in a good attacking position!

I see both sides of the debate but I strongly feel we are a much
better team than last year, we lost three matches which is a
shame and we could have won but we came back at the teams which
we couldn't have done last year and would definitely have lost
them to a bid defeat. So I am positive and we are still in sixth
after 4 games amazingly

Came back against Bath when they'd won the game and what,
scraped a BP against a struggling Saints? There was no comeback
yesterday - quite the opposite - didn't score a point for the
last 70 odd minutes was it? This is exactly like last year apart
from the defence has probably been a little better. If the team
carries on in this vein I can even see them giving up some games
without a fight after Christmas.
At least last season we'd won 2 games at this point!

While we need to give the team some credit for the losing BPs,
we’re lucky they exist as they’re the main reason we’re in mid
table. Without sounding pessimistic, losing BPs are about the
best we can expect for the next couple of rounds away at
Gloucester and against Saracens.
We’re also lucky that other teams who have probably played
better than us so far have been less successful at picking up
the BPs (namely Saints and Newcastle).
I’m realistic enough to accept that it will take time for
Gustard to properly influence the squad, but I can’t help but be
dismayed by our ability to self-destruct at every opportunity by
screwing up the basics or giving away dumb penalties.

Not sure we are lucky, the teams below us get what they deserve,
table does not lie. If they had been better they would have more
points

This was and remains one of our biggest problems, it was
(possibly) worse last year but it still isn't great.

Not sure that applies after just four games especially as we
have lost to two teams below us in the league let’s see where we
are at Christmas I will be amazed on current form if we are
still in the top 6
