He has some amazing skills however his flaws are even greater.
Playing against him you just need to kick to him and attack his
wing. Yes he can step you in a phone box but I’d favour our
wings against him.
Hope it works for him but I would be really conferenced going to
Bristol, and I, sure apart from the bank balance Sinks regrets
it. Although I’d take Collier and Louw over him too.

He is the rugby equivalent to Ravel Morrison in football.
Many in his younger days said he was the most talented player
they’ve seen in a long time, including Sir Alex rating him over
Pogba. Sadly, he believed his own hype, and has had more clubs
than Tiger Woods because he simply didn’t apply himself. Now,
after years of underachieving he’s been given a chance at Derby
and is doing well, but he certainly wasted his most important
years and we can only be left wondering what could of been.
In any case, unless he’s changed his attitude and also learnt
how to defend, I’d have someone like Murley over him anyday.
Having someone who can dance around and run fast is great, but
if you can’t at least hold down your side of the field defending
it’s pointless.

His defence isn't great but I think people make a bit too much
of it. Ball in hand he's clearly excellent and I think he'll do
well at Briz. Hope so anyway.

As long as we can hold onto Cleaves, we have a like-for-like
replacement for Ibitoye who's also:
- Younger
- Seems more grounded (admittedly, this is an intangible
"feeling")
- Seems to be up for pulling his weight as part of a team
defensive effort & system
- Looks as though he has just as much ability with ball in hand
Imagine if Gabs was still around and still wasn't doing his bit
in defence - he'd be a progress blocker to someone like Cleaves,
who might then be more inclined to look elsewhere. Gabs moving
on was a win for us in my book.
Despite all that, I hope he thrives at Briz and is able to
address the blatant weaknesses in his game - if he can, he could
well be back in the England reckoning for the next RWC cycle. I
hope he can - for his sake.

Weirdly, ball in hand he could often be a liability as he kept
losing the ball in contact or just knocking it on for no reason.
Add in being a frequent bombscare under the high ball and
basically there was no reliable part of his game so he was
living off the pace and footwork alone.

Yeah, I wish him well and hope it works out for him, but would
certainly prefer our current options to start for us over him.
I'm sure he'll score or create a few highlight reel tries, but
probably not contribute anything like as much overall as less
heralded players like Murley.
Then again, maybe he just needs the right coach to get the best
out of him

Also liked to hold the ball in one hand a lot …
FWIW, I think he’ll do well at Bristol, but I don’t ever see him
being more than a decent, occasionally excellent Premiership
player.

That’s the main point for me. He seems to be almost the
antithesis of a Moneyball player - great highlights but is he
actually weakening the team?
