Being dropped from the DPP for not putting as much effort in as
Matthews is not the same as leaving for another club due to the
reduced cap and post-Academy financial expectations.

Not at all. Launchbury’s always said he wasn’t fully focused in
his time with us. We were right to let him go at that point and
he never made a first team appearance for us.
Not in any way comparable with Tizard who we’ve clearly invested
in and who is getting regular game time in the first team. If he
goes (and I really hope he doesn’t) it won’t be because we’re
‘letting him go’, it’ll be because Saracens are chucking money
at him.

It might be because we don’t have room in the cap to keep him.
Kenningham, Musk, Tizard and Riley are all in the Academy and
getting regular 1st team rugby. It may be that we can’t afford
to keep them all - and that being the case we may be better able
to lose a lock than a back row, prop or hooker.

Would be a real shame if he left. I'd venture to say I'd keep
him ahead of lewies. That's based on age w d injury record. Not
sure how old lewies is, but not one I'd categorise as one for
the long term.

Really hope we can keep Tiz, really starting to show his worth.
Another season of growth like Lamb and he will be a right
handful.
Think this will be a unpopular opinion… but… Am I the only one
who thinks we don’t get great value for money from our senior
2nd rows. We can’t seem to keep both Symons & Lewies fit at all,
Symons size is notable when he’s on the field and sorely missed,
& Lewies isnt up to last years standards (in his few mins he’s
played)

This season yeah, but they both had a huge hand to play in
winning us a title, so fair's fair...
I don't think we're far off looking at Lamb and Tizard as our
first choice options. Next season maybe. Hammons is an absolute
unit too.

I think a more accurate statement is that we haven’t got ‘great
value for money from our senior 2nd rows’ this season.
I agree re. Lewies, but it seems like he’s still not right
rather than a decline in his ability. Hopefully, as the season
goes on, he’ll be able to show his worth.
Symons has always been injury prone, but he makes a huge
difference when he’s around so from a personal POV, I can live
with his absences. He did go off injured again today, but from
what a saw he looked like he got a knock to the unmentionables -
painful rather than anything too worrying.
If the rumour is true that Symons is retiring, I would sincerely
hope we’re keeping Tizard as his natural replacement.

Symonds looked to have tweaked an adductor/groin - he had
difficulty lifting his leg on to the small platform on side of
the pitch.
