when the covid regs are relaxed we can have two people with
bottle crates like in the old days. Hopefully only during breaks
for injury or official water breaks, first two matches each
season appear to have these at the 20 minute mark in each half.

I would have thought one person, 2 at most could carry 15
bottles of water onto the pitch. I think even I (not being big
or exceptionally strong) could do that!

Yeah but they can't all be together in the same carrier to avoid
contamination etc, bottles all names and stored apart etc - and
the idea was to stop all 15 players being close to the same
       person who's carrying them.
All eminently sensible given the rates of covid etc, but a total
scourge on the game - so likewise hope that by summer they might
be banished from the pitch for good.

I'm not questioning your comment, C, but playing rugby
       (scrums/lineouts/rucks/mauls/tackles) is contact-rich - its nigh
on impossible to avoid close contact: adding waterboys to the
fray doesn't seem likely to be any more likely to result in
       contagion...

Farage is a bit left of centre but the Covid-19 rules are harder
to understand than the laws of rugby (I did play back row)
