Thing is, it wasn't one or two Mexican waves. The NW quarter
tried about twenty times to get a wave going during the refund
half and booed loudly when it died out each time, no matter what
was happening on the pitch. This essentially meant that our
captain was booed off the pitch, as was Murley. Given the match
was still close and we'd seen a lot of entertaining rugby, it
was incredibly disrespectful and the whole farrago lasted for
       ages.

I never understood the need to boo those who don't join in the
Mexican wave. Perhaps next year those who start it should be
       booed.

Thankfully none of that happens at the stoop (Booing/Mexican
waves). To be honest it’s to be expected as the crowd is very
different. Much more a “footy” crowd if that makes sense as
essentially TBG is an extension of the Christmas booze up so you
don’t need to necessarily be invested in either team playing.
It’s a lot worse at the 7s when that was a big day out.. but the
booing is very poor taste, and that’s coming from someone who is
       the king of poor taste.

People enjoying themselves at a game of rugby.what a crime.
Let’s get back to the good old days when the The Stoop had a
crowd of a couple of thousand, the linemen ran the line with
blazers on and the game was dominated by penalty kicks.

I don't like the Mexican Wave, but it's what you get at
Twickenham. Happens with England matches too. Everyone else
seems to enjoy it and if that makes their day or brings them to
the game then am happy to put up with it. I wouldn't try to stop
       it.
Booing is much worse and I hope the club makes this clear before
the next one. That is so against what I consider rugby's values
I just can't condone it even in young kids. Someone should have
sorted that the first time it happened. OK - a joke booing of
the announcement of Wayne Barnes is mildly amusing, but not
booing a team (especially the opposition!).

Ways to avoid the Mexican Wave:
1 - Don't have an arena style ground
2 - If you do have an arena style ground, make sure it's way too
big for the number of fans you get.

A small number of people booing a larger number of people for
wanting to enjoy the rugby and not a mexican wave?
The Stoop's had loads and loads of really high octane matches.
Not a mexican wave in sight. Mexican waves come when people
aren't that invested in the rugby - if they were enjoying it,
they wouldn't be trying so hard to ignore it.
