Mexican Wave

I was so annoyed with the 'mexican' wave during the game. It was
a classic match with brilliant rugby, tension and excitement
galore. That felt disrespectful to the teams. Sorry if not
getting it but I really hate that shit.

I hate it too, but I expect it, as there are too many
'neutrals'.

I’m probably going to be shouted down for this but hey ho. This
is probably my last Big Game. I have no interest in being at a
match where the crowd boo the opposition on, where no-one is
quiet for any kicker, where a bloody Mexican wave is taking
place as a match is going on.
The light show was good, Pete Tong a throwback to my younger
years, and the rugby was, well, Quintesque, but I prefer to be
at the Stoop with rugby fans.

well if you haven't worked it out by now that this will always
happen when you bring another 50000+ on top of core crowd then
can suggest you give it a miss in future years . if this one
mexican wave has convinced a few youngsters to get down to their
local club to play the great game i'm happy . i'm also happy
that the clubs coffers will swell from this this and hopefully
go towards more players of class to add to what we already have
. . you will get mexican waves at most sporting events with an
eclectic audience . yes not everyone's cup of tea , but is it
necessary to whinge about something that was inevitable ? if you
don't like it , you know the answer

I agree with all that you say except that I feel honour bound to
support the team and I don’t want the neutrals to get any more
of a foothold so I will continue to attend.

By far the worst is the booing of Saints coming on to the pitch.

Yep hate it although it was being started by a rugby club behind
me which was made up of a lot of kids, having been one of those
kids and raised two myself know even the most captivating game
doesn’t hold most kids attention. However in that group could be
the next Smith, Dommers or Kenningham. If not a player but a fan
and ST holder. So I think we have to expect it a bit. Also at
that point the game had lost a bit of flow and it soon stopped
once the game re-ignited.

I don't like the Mexican wave, but it isn't something to get too
annoyed about, It happens at these big games nevermind, for some
it adds to the party atmosphere and it certainly didn’t
negatively impact my enjoyment of the day.

One or two Mexican waves is no problem and if you are with
Children, it is a great thing to see and join in with.
Booing the opposition is not on and should be discouraged as
much as possible.

I would hope that if those responsible are watching rugby for
the first time they will continue to watch rugby whilst learning
the rugby values of respect for the opposition and then stop
booing the opposing team.
