It wasn’t the best of games but that’s how if goes at any level.
Complete contrast to the way better game against Saracens. It’s
a 5point win which puts us in second.

How do they calculate that figure (other than erroneously, I
mean)? If it's the number of tickets scanned at the gates prior
to the final whistle of the women's game, then they're knowingly
telling porky pies, are they not?

Sadly for me I missed most of the first half due to traffic
issues, arriving just in time to see Jess’s try. The second half
was lacking any real edge - no lack of effort but neither team
achieved any fluency. Quins’ superiority player for player was
enough for a comfortable win.

I don’t know how else you would calculate how many were actually
watching. It’s the same with any game where there are thousands
queuing for food/drink/toilets etc during a game. It’s not
important is it. The fact that the game was shown live and
promoted is more relevant to the womens game. It’s good to see
that the detractors still watched the game thus adding to the
positive stats.

Fixed that for you. While I'm a supporter of women's rugby, most
of the first half was pretty dire - neither side was able to
string an attack together without losing the ball after a few
phases. In tough conditions the difference in training and
experience between the women and the men really starts to show -
they struggle for distance on the kicks, handling errors are
more frequent and they can't find the gaps or the support as
reliably.
That said, the only way to improve it is with time, money and
exposure, and Quins are doing more to help with that than most.
It was an important match, even if it wasn't a great spectacle.

Well as D.Tel says shirts that fit them would help the spectacle
if nothing else. Never again.

I enjoyed the game, the physicality and defensive commitment was
great to see, and Quins ability to score from distance was a
joy. Being critical the kicking was poor and too many players
stuck the ball under one arm instead of trying to link up with
other players, but it was a decent rugby match and an excellent
thumping of Wasps.

I watched the game on replay. The girls defence was very good
and they took their chances well, with some individual bits of
brilliance thrown in.
I was very disturbed by the way the TMO insisted that the wasps
player was given a red card in spite of the referee saying
clearly she thought there was enough mitigation for a yellow.
Surely that is not what the TMO is there for?
