Wow thanks Baggie, it's always good to get re-educated by an
expert!!!
Sorry Yareet, not trying to suggest that it would be Quirke,
just that type of player. It is an interesting quandary for him
though if it was an offer on the table. Stay with Ford (who
still has a big part to play with England, in my opinion) or
come to Quins and play with Smith and strengthen his (or both
their) England chances of starting. Not a bad position to be in
for the young lad........hypothetically of course.

Care has said on the pod in recent weeks that he's in
negotiations regarding a new contract

I'm sure I read in the interview he said ' I've got one more
year left at Quins' I can't prove it but I'm sure I read it.
But I would take it as he is here next season but then that is
it. I doubt he will go at the end of this season.

Found it, 22/12/21 on ruck, 5 days before they say he's leaving
this season!?!
Do we trust ruck
now?

If Care does leave, I believe Maunder is out of contract and
might be a decent replacement

Couldn't disagree more there - Maunder is genuinely dreadful, a
huge problem for Exeter at the moment, and possibly the exact
opposite of Danny as a scrum half in terms of style of play. I'd
be aghast if we tried to sign him.

This is straying off topic but since you asked…
There are persistent rumours of a saffer exodus but the official
line is that:
Ford has replaced AJ on much the same money. I heard he’s been
commuting from Oldham to Leicester for years and he certainly
has a business back home with his brother.
Hill will be partly offset by loosing JPdP (the tall one) and
(I’d guess) Phillips retiring.
Alex has come out this week and said that despite rumours of
their departure the dP brothers are fairly happy and at the
moment are staying.
Lood and Faf are heavily rumoured to be off but they’re believed
to be our marquees so don’t make much difference to the cap.
Simon Orange has however asked why nobody expects to see Hill
and Lood in the same team so maybe he’ll stay.
The suspicion is that Akker vdW may go but we have 3 other tier
1 capped hookers so we always rely overstocked there.
Coenie may also be let go but hasn’t really set the world
alight. Can we swap him for Wilco please?

Seriously, have you seen him play. He is slow, has no pace.
Exeter have struggled to replace Nic White since he left.
I'm not sure who should replace Care, but let's hope the club
have an idea. The current scrum half's a decent players, but not
to the level of that Care has been playing at.
