Think this game isnt going to happen as I think another lockdown
is unfortunately coming, interested in other people’s views....

From what the political reporters are tweeting, it looks like
while a lockdown of sorts *is* coming, it won't be until later
next week. Looked at purely in cold logical terms, it's hard to
see a justification for allowing mass mixing of families across
the over the next week and a half while the growth in infections
is increasing, only to lock down when people have travelled back
to their own home locations & potentially mixed with different
groups over a matter of days (work colleagues* up to the 24th,
Family from various parts of the country on the 25th/26th,
friends & neighbours after that). It's a recipe for spreading
the variant far & wide.
*excluding work meetings with wine, cheese & pizzas in the
garden where your wife & young baby are in attendance, of
course...

Hopefully the game will go ahead with simple restrictions of
negative test/covid passport and wearing a mask with attendees
being sensible. Too late to limit numbers due to the number of
tickets sold but I suspect some natural limiting will occur as
happened on Saturday due to positive tests or a reluctance to
take the risk and forfeiting ticket.

I get the impression "Sport" is trying to do all it can to keep
games going (Im guessing the money is just too important to
lose)

Much as I enjoy Big Game (haven’t missed one yet), I cannot see
how common sense will allow a gathering of this size, at this
moment in time, especially considering the amount of cheering,
singing etc that will take place. Should the game be given the
go ahead with a full crowd, I will seriously consider the wisdom
of attending.

For all but a few 'round ball' teams the money is all about
survival without the big TV money. Without benefactors with deep
pockets how many rugby teams could survive? It's a difficult
balance but I favour playing on with reasonable, sensible,
limitations to the financial bloodbath of no sport. As a society
we need to take some personal responsibility for jabs, hygiene
precautions and an acceptance of some risk (the level of risk
being a personal decision). I say this in the expectation that
Covid will still be around, in some form, five years from now
and probably a lot longer.

See all the football teams have decided to hold theirs games
See no reason why big game shouldn’t go ahead
And as confirmed today parliament would have to be recalled,
that takes a minimum 48hrs notice , so it’s likely the game will
happen
