HARLEQUINS’ COACHING GROUP HAVE NAMED THE SIDE LOOKING TO SECURE
A PERFECT START TO THIS YEAR’S EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN
There are four changes to the starting XV, with England
international Joe Marchant returning to fitness to start on the
wing. Argentinian international Santiago Garcia Botta, tighthead
prop Simon Kerrod and openside flanker Jack Kenningham also make
returns to the starting line-up.
On the bench, Harlequins Academy propping duo Will Hobson and
Mak Wilson will look to make their senior debuts for the Club.
Also amongst the Impact Players, lock Matt Symons and centre
Luke Northmore make returns to the matchday squad.
Scrum Coach Adam Jones said: “It was tough out there in our win
against Castres last weekend. There were a few hairy moments,
but our scrum went really well, our maul defence was excellent
and the defence was good. If you don’t get those three things
right it can be tough in Europe.
“We saw in Cardiff’s match against Toulouse last Saturday that
they have real fight despite their disruption over recent weeks.
We know we can’t rest on our laurels as we welcome them to our
home ground.”

I should also add that there's strong rumours that the French
teams are not going to travel as they risk being stranded in the
UK if there's a positive test. So far only rumours but it's
being tweeted by an Irish Journalist and others like Nick Heath
& Sonja McC are retweeting it...

Or maybe he is and the teamsheet is wrong?
Either way, I am guessing that we're taking a chance on having a
weaker front row against Cardiff (I am guessing the club is
still expecting them to be injury and COVID hit) but that's a
very strong starting team and bench in the backs.

Broadly the same sort of Cardiff team. I suppose the Quins
coaches have correctly identified that theres little point going
fully loaded up front when the opposition front row include a PE
teacher and a groundsman.
