Unless Eddie has categorically told them they’re not in his
plans moving forward, that feels a bit hasty.
Sure they were left out for the AIs, but I don’t think anyone
would be surprised to see them back for the 6 Nations. I’d argue
we needed to try the other options at 8 (including one of our
own) and Marler and Genge would have had a strong case to be
picked ahead of Mako anyway.
Both of them, particularly Billy, have been such a key part of
Eddie’s gameplan that it would be strange to jettison them now.
Generally they tend to come as a package deal (IIRC heir parents
don’t like them on opposing sides), so any club wanting to sign
one might need to sign the other. That’s some serious wedge.

I'm not insinuating anything Yareet (don't be so touchy
😉). All I'm pointing out is that the salary cap
reductions will hurt everyone the same way and that a high
earning player from one premiership club can't go to another as
a marquee player 🍻

Didn’t Eddie say that he’d underestimated how much being
relegated had affected the Saracens players and that they needed
time to reestablish themselves at the higher level. If they
could do this then they were in with a selection opportunity.
