HARLEQUINS WOMEN NAME THEIR MATCHDAY SQUAD AS QUINS LOOK TO MAKE
IT THREE LEAGUE WINS IN A ROW AWAY AT SARACENS
Harlequins Women Head Coach Gerard Mullen has named his matchday
squad that will travel to North West London on Sunday afternoon
as Quins face Saracens in Round 8 of the Allianz Premier 15s
season.
The match will be shown live on the BBC Sport App, BBC iPlayer,
as well as on premier15s.com from 14:45 GMT.
There are six changes to the starting XV that defeated DMP
Durham Sharks 69-7 last time out. England internationals Vickii
Cornborough and Amy Cokayne return to the front row, whilst
Heather Cowell features back on the wing after two weeks away
with GB Sevens out in Dubai.
Fi Fletcher and Jade Konkel return to the star-studded
Harlequins pack as Quins look to make it three wins a row in the
Premier 15s. The last change comes at scrum-half as newly capped
England international Lucy Packer comes into the starting XV.
Ahead of the London derby, Mullen said: “Everyone looks forward
to Saracens vs Harlequins fixtures and this weekend will be no
different. Both teams have a lot of star quality in their
squads, with a number of them featuring in the Red Roses squad
recently so we know it’s going to be a great game to watch for
all the fans tuning in.”

KAT EVANS SAYS IT IS A HUGE HONOUR AS SHE PREPARES TO MAKE HER
200TH SARACENS APPEARANCE THIS WEEKEND.
The Welsh hooker is in fine form which saw her rewarded with an
international call-up this Autumn, and now she has another
landmark as she joins the 200 club at StoneX Stadium.
Sarries welcome Harlequins to North London on Sunday in the
latest instalment of The Duel, with the hosts currently sitting
top of the table after their hard-fought victory over Bristol
Bears last weekend.
Head Coach Alex Austerberry was clearly pleased with what he
saw, as he has named an unchanged XV for Sunday’s derby.
Hannah Botterman, May Campbell and Kelsey Clifford continue in a
powerful front-row, whilst Fiona McIntosh and Poppy Cleall will
be looking for more of the same in the second-row.
Georgia Evans, Vicky Fleetwood and captain Marlie Packer will be
looking to give the backs front foot ball, and if they can they
will hope that Ella Wyrwas produces similar magic with her
wonder try against Bristol last week.
Zoe Harrison will be eyeing up another successful day from the
tee as she starts at fly-half, whilst Holly Aitchison and Hannah
Casey are in the midfield once more.
The back-three of Alysha Corrigan, Rachel Laqeretabua and
Chantelle Miell keep their places and will be hoping for some
try-scoring opportunities on Sunday.
There are six forwards on the bench as Austerberry has opted for
plenty of cover up front, with Carly Waters and the versatile
Coreen Grant completing the 23.
Evans reflected on her landmark after being named in the squad
for Sunday’s match.
“It’s an honour to be pulling the Saracens shirt on for the
200th time this weekend. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my career and
being part of a team that is at the forefront of the women’s
game. The leaps forward that women’s rugby has taken in my time
at Saracens have been ground breaking.”

5 mins left, Quins 36-17 up. In truth, they have torn Sarries a
new one today. Devastating performance from Quins. Whole game
camped in Sarries half. Sarries defended really well and we did
butcher a couple but this was dominant (despite their 17).

Great to see Konkel as player of the match. There was a moment
silence before the game for the Scottish Womens player that
passed away. Konkel was in tears.

done to all the players especially Jade who deservedly won

Yes, she was so powerful. Her carrying was immense, as was the
carrying of Beckett and Brown. Scott's speed was sensational
too!

Packer starting made a big difference. Much quicker ball than
Swords (been disappointing so far this season).
