Extensive article in the Times

It's about how our build-up & training differs so much from
other clubs. An interesting comment at the 60% point of the
article is that TM isn't on the typical fixed-term contract.
Instead his is a permanent position.

Nice article. Nice to see the shout out for Owen Eastwood. I've
seen Harlequins roll over more times than my dog, that grit and
never say die attitude that got us the trophy last year - it
wasn't a happy accident.

I’d wholeheartedly suggest reading Eastwood’s book “Belonging”.
For me, it was very clear what impact he has had on the club as
so much of what he describes seems to be reflected in Quins’
approach last season.

Great article and like the way we are looking after the players,
it will be interesting to see how it changes if we don’t start
picking up wins.
By no ,Dan’s do I mean revert back or press the panic button but
there has to be a point where the coaches bring the lads in for
an extra day if the Ls keep coming. Just to shake it up.
I think you can see from the stands how happy our players are.

Just to sound a sour bell, its a results business so we had
better sharpen up soon.

To be fair, 9 games in we are in a decent place. We have taken
points from every match, although there are more losses than I'd
have liked.

Meh. I kind of think our results this year (and last year too
really) reflect the ideas in the article. Sure there are games
we could and should have won, but it is really only a results
business insofar as we want to win silverware. Get top 4 and win
from there is surely more important than win every league game
and fall apart at the end.
I don't think there are any games we've lost which we couldn't
have won with a few tweaks here or there, Sale was the only game
I'd say we were comprehensively outplayed, and we've won games
playing badly. What I think we have the ability to do more than
anyone else in the league is turn it on when it really matters.
Sure we'd all like to win every week, but I don't think that's
possible the way we play.
In spite of a pretty poor set of results recently, we're right
in the race for second, and Tigers can't keep winning forever. I
totally back us to do what is needed to finish 4th pretty
easily, with plenty left in the tank. And even though we won
last year, the whole thing is still a massive work in progress
and highly experimental. It won't work every week.

Spot on. Top 4 is looking unlikely this season.
