HARLEQUINS COACHING GROUP MAKE FOUR CHANGES TO STARTING XV FOR
TIGERS TRIP
Fly-half Marcus Smith and number eight Alex Dombrandt start for
the first time after starring in England’s Autumn
Internationals.
Other changes to the starting line-up see Scotland international
Huw Jones start his first Gallagher Premiership fixture in the
centres, with wing Louis Lynagh playing for the first time since
October as he returns from injury.
Off the back of being named the Premiership Land Rover player of
the round last week for a two-try performance against London
Irish, Harlequins Academy back Oscar Beard is retained in the
matchday 23, taking up his place alongside scrum-half Lewis
Gjaltema in a 6-2 bench split for the men in the Famous
Quarters.
Previewing this weekend’s trip to Leicester, Attack and Backs
Coach Nick Evans said: “We’re expecting a big challenge against
Leicester this week. Their power game and set-piece is very
good.
“We have talked about getting our mentality right and they are
top of the league for a reason and we see this as an opportunity
to bounce back from last week’s loss.
“They are a quality outfit and you expect someone like Steve
(Borthwick) to make sure their set-piece is right and he has
brought that mentality of Leicester of old back. We are going to
test ourselves against the best team in the competition and we
always back ourselves and we have to create scenarios with the
ball where we put them under stress and put our game on the
park.”

No surprise Northmore or Allan are out. No news about Allans
injury but it looked bad. I think Louw is a couple of weeks
away still. Marchant must have been close.

Not too keen on the 6-2 split. Would rather Lawday started and
Chisholm for impact, but I guess a back row of
"Lawday/Taulani/one starter" is aiming for mobility later rather
than sooner?

The "unavailable to injury" list is sorry reading. However, on

As NEv says, we must 'put our game on the park'. For the most
part this season, particularly without Marcus, we've been
utterly shapeless in attack. But with him back, Dommers to bust
the lines and with the terrible twins (Lynagh and Green)
reunited, we can give this a go. Being hopeless underdogs is
seemingly good for us too.
