Hi guys,
The list of 66 on the EPCR site isn't very accurate and shows
the wrong positions for a number of players.
You're right that front row players would be a big concern and
theres also a lack of available second row forwards. I agree
theres a safety aspect to this.
The are 32 players out in South Africa. There were half a dozen
Welsh internationals who were rested and didnt go on the tour.
Plus Olly Robinson who was set to play for the Barbarians. Plus
Dan Fish who is an academy coach still registered as a player
for emergencies.
The other players still in the UK are all academy players. Any
23 selected would likely feature about two thirds making their
debut at this level.
The rules allow for 5 players to be added to a european squad
but a 3 month contract minimum is required. We have a semi
professional squad for welsh league rugby so they could probably
meet the criteria and be added. But of course, they're part time
players.
My hunch is that we wont play the game as the priority is
bringing this complete clusterfuck to a close and getting the
players home. Noone is thinking about anything else.

There was talk on the BBC rugby pod that the game could very
well be called off, given the reasons you've listed there I'd be
surprised if it went ahead now.

Works out well for us. BP win, a weeks rest for the team and
then Cardiff hopefully back to play their game the following
week!!!

Having missed the last couple of home games, I was looking
forward to this one. I realise no-one cares and there are far
bigger issues, but shame that the pre-Christmas game looks like
it'll be cancelled.

I was looking forward to playing a team other than a prem team
for a change so I’m disappointed but rules have to be followed.
How long is it likely to be before we know for certain what will
happen and if elite sport status and super testing could be a
way through this situation. ( not that I’m offended but how did
that word get through the profanity blocker or is it a Welsh
word that means something else)

Paragraph 4.3 of the STH T&Cs states "If a fixture or event it
[is]cancelled or played behind closed doors due to a reason out
of
our control, such as the impact of COVID-19 [,] the Club will
make reasonable efforts to
contact those supporters effected [affected] and offer either a
full refund or Quins Credit which
can then be used towards future ticket purchases." My edits. Or,
they could go down the voluntary donation route.
Club and supporters will be happy with 5 points but the bank
balance will take a hit.

Cardiff now due back in UK on December 2 so Quins game should be
ok
