They really have stepped up a gear this Autumn, the French are
seemingly their only contenders at the moment though I fully
expect New Zealand to come back fighting next year

speaking as a neutral . the standard of opposition in the ladies
game is woeful, probably the worst it's been since the inception
of the ladies game sadly . . yes they are good , but how good
they are is hard to measure when they are playing sunday pub
league teams

They are currently the World's best female rugby side - that's
how good they are.

You can only play what is in front of you, England and France
have taken a step forward due to more full time professionals in
the game. The gulf will grow until other unions fund their
womens programs. The semi professional 15's league is
attracting players from around the world and also driving
standards.
If you think they are the standard of a Sunday pub league I
don't think much of your Rugby knowledge but your are entitled
to your view.
The next world cup would appear to be a two horse race with NZ
as a bolter

I disagree. As someone who has followed the women's game for the
last decade, the past 12 months has seen a pretty marked rise in
standards of play. I was at the England - Canada game, and said
afterwards to Mrs Poorfour that the intensity and skill levels
had moved from being similar to men's university rugby a decade
ago to equivalent to professional club level.
The Premier 15s final, for instance, was every bit as good as
the Premiership one.
There is an issue for England that right now their international
competition is a bit limited, but their progress will raise
standards for the other NH teams, and the Black Ferns will be
back once they have had more game time.

I'd disagree Poorfour.
We (my wife my 2 daughters and myself) went to the England v
Canada game with tickets bought through the local club that the
girls play for and we weren't terribly impressed. My 14 year
daughter old said that watching Quin's is much better.......
