not in good form and missed hatfuls of tackles against the
Aussies. Lawes/Curry/Dombrandt gives you a great mix and a
plethora of lineout options to boot, plus it allows us to pick
the neanderthal power of Hill in the second row.

I'd agree to an extent, but Lawes at lock over Hill is more of a
benefit than lawes at 6 over underhill.

I'd still like to see Lawes in the second row, Hill on the
bench, Ewels nowhere near the squad and proper backrow. Quirke
at 9 and a 5/3 split on the bench. Otherwise, given the injuries
in the front row and to Radwan, that's a decent team

So Eddie said one of his biggest regrets from the World Cup
final was not starting Joe Marler against the Bok pack.....so
now he does exactly the same and will get the same result.
Just because he's has a week off, he hasn't forgotten how to
scrummage or lost his fitness. Madness, again.i can understand
Radwan as their backline is big but Quirke has shown against big
players that he can hold his own. Slow ball equals arm wrestle
and big carriers are needed.
Maybe Marcus can bring the all court game and keep them moving.
Look out for the cheap shots please sir!

Yeah, totally agree. How Marler is not starting against the
springbok pack is beyond me.

Be fai. Joe has just spent a week and a half in isolation
without the ability to tryin properly with the full pack.

I do get that Fred but it's early in the season and he has been
training at home along with 11 years experience of scrummaging,
I think he'll be fine. If Rodd gets treated like Mako, he may
well need to come on quite early anyway.

Hill has been an undoubted force in European rugby and I think
he's finally, finally starting to show it for England. He is a
huge bloke with a lot of impact when he's playing well, I can
see why the Lions went for him and why Eddie persists with him.
Ewels on the other hand...
Hill was v good against the Aussies so I'm happy for him to
continue.

Wasn't Marler was on paternity leave before last seasons semi
final? He still played 100 minutes with I'd assume very little
if any training.

Interesting equation of COVID to paternity. I assume you are a
parent. 😁

But with a load of blokes he’s played with all season. How many
games have Marler and Blamire packed down together?
I’d’ve been very tempted to start Joe but I can see why Eddie
didn’t.
