Twickenham chaos expected for England and Australia fans

I've always thought the situation at the station after a match
       was a bit dodgy.

And yet once the Telegraph was actually a newspaper,
One person tweeting is now a news story.
       Tragic

You didn’t read it, really, though.

       Man you’re on a crusade,
       I read every word,
There was an issue at the station last week. It wasn’t good.
The whole article however is based on one set of tweets. Those
       are the only “quotes”.
It doesn’t stop it being true that there was an issue.

Having waited at Clapham Junction station to get a connecting
train to Twickenham on big game days for hours, as train after
train of full carriages passes me by. The only option is often
to squeeze on board and feel like sardines (A great opportunity
       to get COVID these days).
I took my wife and two boys (3 & 7) to England vs Tonga on the
weekend. So drove, parked up in Whitton at a school for 25£ but
a 30 min walk either way.
I can confirm that the roads were chocker block too. What do you
expect from 82,000 people going to the rugby!

I've not been to a game at HQ since the re-designed station
opened. From what I read in the original article, it seems they
didn't do what I've seen before, where the crowds were split at
the traffic lights at the Whitton Rd/London Rd junction so that
the London-bound passengers went to the left, through the
carpark & fed onto Platform 3, while those heading outwards went
right, through the station ticket office to platforms 4 & 5.
Does anyone know if they are still channeling the passengers
going into town through the car park? If not, I can see why
there's an issue, seeing how bad it was after our last home game
with the travel difficulties that ensued then.
I know I've posted this before, but a suggestion for those
heading outbound after an HQ game, It's sometimes faster to get
on a train heading *into* London, get off at Richmond, swap
platforms, and get the outbound train there. I've done it a
number of times for the route to Reading. Usually if you're at
TW station you can end up effectively missing 3 trains over an
hour and a half waiting to i) get into the station, ii) onto the
platform, and iii) onto a train. If you go up to Richmond,
you'll often find you get onto a train quicker. You're then able
to get onto a near empty train heading out at Richmond, having a
pick of the seats before the crowd piles on at TW.

Yeah, sorry! Must have been miserable. Or drunk. Or both.

I went on Saturday and it was particularly bad at the station
particularly after the game. We left it about 1 1/2 hrs before
heading down to the station and the queues to get into the
station were way worse than I've seen on 30 odd visits to a full
Twickenham. We headed into town for a drink and eventually got
       an Uber instead!
