I just get the impression EJ does not want to see Marcus do well
and is playing mind games with him, just so EJ can then point at
any failings and go..TOLD YOU SKIP! and then proudly announce
Ford as starting 10.

You mean Farrell. Ford's always been the one to carry the can,
it just so happens this is the first time there's been a
genuinely superb alternative.
Eddie always does stuff like this with excellent young players
who people are excited about, because he loathes the idea that
he might have been late to the party and wants to make out like
he's a rugby god who understands things better than everyone
else.
No other coach does this all the time. Just Eddie.

I've a vague recollection of one or more of the players singing
the praises of Andy Sanger who looks after the players' mental
wellbeing.
