WING NICK DAVID IS SET TO MAKE HIS DEBUT FOR THE CLUB THIS
WEEKEND AFTER BEING NAMED IN THE STARTING XV TO TRAVEL TO WASPS
ON SUNDAY
David is one of three changes to the starting line-up that
hosted Saracens at The Stoop last week, with Will Edwards taking
the reigns from number ten after taking to field in the 22nd
minute in place of injured Italian international Tommy Allan
last weekend.
The final change sees the return of fit-again second row Matt
Symons, with the veteran tight five forward available for
selection after missing out on last weekend’s derby game due to
injury.
Three Harlequins Academy men are added to the bench this week,
with hooker Jack Musk and centres Lennox Anyanwu and Oscar Beard
joining the matchday squad. All three look to make their first
senior appearances of the 2021/22 campaign.
Senior Coach Tabai Matson said: “We performed well against
Saracens and well in periods against Bath and Bristol. But for
us, it’s about that consistency of delivery, especially away
from home.
“We got that bonus point away to Sale, which was pleasing, but
if you want to hit top four you need to win some away. For us,
this is a really important marker in the sand.
“Wasps will clearly be closer to full strength this week and
will be targeting this game before the Prem Cup next week to
finish this block strongly; and so for us too. We’ve definitely
got our target on Sunday.”

Very glad Esterhuizen is fit to play, he is so crucial to our
attacking shape.

Going to be a very tough ask to get a result. Can't see us
winning.
At least Edwards will have had a whole week knowing he's
starting. I hope Danny doesn't try to take it all on himself.

Wasps had grit to grind down Bath, and i think we will struggle
away from home. As a team Wasps have a bit of momentum from that
win, where we have to re-adjust again, particularly with Edwards
at 10, who I am not confident will control the game in the way
we need him to.

Going to be a big ask on the road, this one.
All of a sudden we have started to look very thin on the ground.
To be expected at this time of the year with the Internationals
and some injuries starting to creep in, but like I say, it just
seems to have been very sudden.
Squeeze a very narrow win or take a LBP.

If we’re in it after 60 minutes I think the quality of the
benches will show.

I don't think we look very thin on the ground. We look light at
ten, and have the same number of academy players in the squad we
usually have this year. Botta finally showed us what he can do,
Lawday was immense, and David needs to get the chance to play.
After last week's performance, not having Huw Jones on the bench
doesn't weaken us.

I back Edwards to step up. He has had all week to get his head
around starting. I thought he dd okay against a very good
Sarries team.
Will be great to see the youngsters on the bench. Let's hope
that they get done game time head of the Prem Cup.
I think we have enough to get at least a losing BP. Wasps are
hit hard by injuries, so we have a good chance.
