contact to suffer a brain injury (indeed, it's one of the big
problems facing the sport if the recent studies bear out)

Absolutely. It's the brain banging around in your skull that's
the problem.

To my mind done deliberately to intimidate him at best. He tried
to stick it out but clearly was not right.

Thanks for clarifying. Not sure if I'd missed a later/second
incident, given the time which passed between the Koch tackle
and Allan being subbed.
Agree Monte. A classic "I'm going to smash their ten, come what
may" type of challenge. I was a little surprised it wasn't a
yellow. To my mind he didn't have to make the tackle...

Yeah he never looked right after that early knock - was looking
uncertain and making odd decisions, he looked to be trying to
shake his head back into shape (if you see what I mean) at one
point.
Worry that we won’t see him for a big amount of time after
today.

It’s a yellow if it happens a couple of minutes later. Late and
absolutely no need for the hit.

It was late, high reckless and dangerous. It makes a mockery of
rugby’s intention to protect players. It was a cheap shot which
had a big impact on the game. Very disappointing by the
officials.

At the game someone said the TMO asked for it to be looked at at
CMK said it was fine
Don’t know if that true
But either way I’ll be surprised if the citing officer isn’t
reviewing a few incidents

My recollection fro ref link was the TMO said it didn't need
looking at further, late no arms but no contact with the head.

Also just listening to the clip of Dino Lamb’s yellow card, CMKs
wasn’t wanting to give a yellow and got talked into it by the
over zealous TMO.
It’s amazing that Sarries got away with the cheap shot/assault
on Allen. Everyone is going on about keeping players safe and
then they let things like that go. I don’t get it.
It’s also funny how they were continuously allowed to infringe
in that 3rd quarter without a warning. They were always
offside, whether that be when we were attacking or not
retreating from all of theirs kicks. It is not always on the
man in the middle, the ARs were non existent so what’s the point
of them.
Incredibly proud of our young team coming up against the cheats.
We didn’t look overpowered which was all of our fear pregame so
kudos for stepping up

Seemed to me that Sarries were aware of our lack of backup at
10, and targeted Tommy from the whistle. I don’t have a problem
with that approach, but to target a player to the extent that he
needs to leave the field injured is unacceptable. I hope the
citing officer agrees with me.
