So what direction do you reside in so I can avoid it?

How far out do we know of engineering works out of interest? Im
hoping TBG isn't snagged like it has before with coinciding with
works

Apperently a tree down on the line at Syon Lane. Between the SWR
and Network Rail unable to drag a tree off the line and at the
same time organise an alternative timetable. Not even a shuttle
between Waterloo and Hounslow via Twickenham. Doesn't seem that
difficult to me. And they are running 5 coach trains. Every hour
or so when they actually run.
Incompetence beyond belief.

they can't magic rolling stock up to suit a game where 15000 are
at a rugby match you know . hardly a priority

I would have said so. Much worse than Dino driving in and making
contact with the body. Which got a yellow card!

I knew about the works on the Reading/Waterloo route a few weeks
back as I would normally be coming that way too (always keep an
eye on this page
HTML https://www.southwesternrailway.com/plan-my-journey/planned-improvements<br
/>a month or so before you plan to travel for planned works).
Unfortunately, not only did they have that, the storms overnight
seem to have impacted the signalling/track as well. I got caught
at Waterloo. Spent close to an hour before I decided to use the
tube instead. From Waterloo, it's one stop up the Bakerloo to
Embankment, then District all the way out to Richmond. The R70
bus from outside the station then takes you to the stop before
Twickenham Green & you can walk from there.
All in all the travel yesterday was a hassle, as I also got
caught on the way out from Paddington as there'd been signalling
faults from the weather in the Swindon-Didcot stretch so all the
trains heading that way were ALSO delayed. Just glad I decided
to have today off so I can have a lie-in!
BTW, I just checked the page I liked to earlier. So far there's
no planned works in the Twickenham area or on associated lines
for BG13.

Love the comments about the tree on the line.
Well its not a simple matter of dragging it off is it.
Need to be assesed and removed in safe controlled manner and
ensure no equipment. or siganalling is damaged.
(This is a job for the Permanent Way department)
Mobilising a crew with the right equipment takes time, in case
you had not noticed quite few fallen trees causing problems.
Engineering works well published in advance.
Possible bad weather - I just take the 4x4 - sorted.
