Because of the environment? Joe is clearly the best loose head
available so Eddie has to pick him when Joe tells him he’s up
       for it.

Joe’s book goes into a fair bit of detail as to why he’s opted
out of England and he seems to have praise for how Eddie has
handled it each time. Surprising, given what many others think
       of EJ.

Quins are a classic example of what happens when players enjoy
playing.Jones rules by fear and the ambiance is one of tension
24/7.I have no doubt the players hate being in camp with him and
breathe a huge sigh of relief when they get back to their
clubs.A comparison with Guantanamo Bay is not that silly

There must be a fine line/balance between playing and enjoying
the experience and the pressure to perform. At a low level I
have seen how a really good coach has extracted performances
from a group that actually enjoy the togetherness and playing
the game . I’ve also seen a poor coach demoralise a group into
not really wanting to be there or perform. It’s a skill and a
gift to be able to coach well.

This board is an unofficial resource for Harlequins rugby fans
to participate in discussions related to rugby and the teams!
Fairly sure this thread would fall under a “rugby” discussion.

I have met EJ twice in my local pub near Sunningdale.
Seems a reasonable guy to have chat with.
Last world cup before the game against Wales he was in with the
       coaching team for some tucker.
Had a chat with him afterwards, was full of it that England were
going for an easy win against Wales - we all know how that
       ended.
If England Rugby were to replace him who would be a good choice?
Feel that Cockers will add something to the coaching mix at the
       moment as well.

To be fair that rather depends on whether you think England play
       rugby!
