Our loosehead stock is fairly strong on paper - the 4 we have
are a highly rated Championship player, the current England U20
loosehead, an Argentine International and a strong candidate for
the best current loosehead in England and possibly globally.
We're just very unlucky that two of them seem to be injured at a
point when the third is perennially out of form and the fourth
is away with England.

Actually, offy currently lists the senior Looseheads as
Marler
Botta
Trenier (I'd forgotten about him - what's happened to him, I
wonder?)
Els
and Ofori-Manteaw and Hobson as the Academy looseheads. Fin
Baxter is listed as a Tighthead but has converted to loosehead
for the England U20s and has played LH for Quins several times
this season. Baxter is only a few months older than the other
two (and still a teenager) but is clearly seen as ready for at
least some senior rugby but the others are not.

Oof. By my count, Sarries have ten capped internationals in that
starting side, versus our five, and I think it shows.

Sarries 10-12-13 are all pretty strong defenders so we’re going
to need Allan to add some creativity in our attack rather than
just relying on Esterhuizen to get over the gain line.
