Well in not sure Bristol or Exeter players would say flukes
after they were humbled or if they do just proves why they
didn’t deserve to win it anyway.
On the other hand who cares what they think.

How can the result of an entire seasons games be a fluke. You
could possibly fluke one game but not lots.

I think part of it is that it wasn't an entire season, and the
way in which it happened was such an oddity. We were still
playing Gustardball until January.
From the point where the Quintumvirate took over, so many things
were unorthodox that it's easy to see why people might see it as
a fluke. Quins:
- had no head coach
- had no internationals who were current starters for their test
team
- played a style of rugby that emphasised attack over defence
- lost three critical players in the space of 3 games
- replaced two of those players with an Academy kid no-one had
ever heard of and another Academy kid that people had only heard
of because his dad
- won several games with improbable last minute wonder tries
- qualified for the playoffs in 4th
- won an away semi-final in overtime overturning the biggest
deficit in Premiership history
- suckered the most structured team in the Prem (and strong
favourites to win) into playing open, end to end rugby and made
it work.
Seen from the outside, it's a big old stack of implausibility.

After the final win I looked at most of the other GP clubs
forums and 99% of the posters on them were complimentary about
the way Quins won (the reasons that poorfour laid out) and they
were wishing their own teams played like Quins have played this
calendar year. None of them were saying it was a fluke and if
anything, were saying that it was the best title win by any club
that they had seen. I would take their opinions (and what i saw
with my own eyes) over a few unnamed green-eyed monsters in the
England squad.

I think the fluke was Brown being suspended, we would not have
won the premiership with Brown in the side, losing him was the
best thing that happened as the Green/Lynagh combination was the
deciding factor in the tight games against Bears and Chiefs, and
the extra pace they added was the key.
